We get asked about this more than you might think. And honestly? We love talking about it. Because the way Woohoo is made is a big part of what makes it different.

It All Starts With Aaron
Every Woohoo deodorant begins life in the lab with our cosmetic chemist and co-founder, Aaron.
Now, Aaron is many things. Brilliant. Methodical. Certified mixologist. Deeply passionate about ingredients. And extremely unwilling to sign off on anything that isn't exactly right (total perfectionist alert).
His process involves a lot of sniffing, a lot of tweaking, a lot of testing and the occasional victory dance when a formula finally nails it.
Aaron’s role involves testing every single variable. The ingredient ratios. The texture. The scent balance. How it feels going on. How it performs three hours later. How it holds up in the Aussie heat. Whether it's gentle enough for sensitive skin. Whether it's strong enough for even the heaviest sweater.
Natural deodorant is quite tricky to formulate well. Unlike conventional antiperspirants that rely on aluminium, it has to work with your own body chemistry to neutralise odour-causing bacteria while keeping the underarm skin healthy and comfortable.
Getting that balance right takes time, expertise and a lot of patience. Thankfully, Aaron has all three and we’re very lucky to have him!
The Hand Mixing Magic
Once the formula is locked in, it's time for our legendary team to make the actual product.
Every single Woohoo deodorant is mixed by hand in small batches in our family-owned Newcastle fun factory (with 80s bangers blasting in the background, or country twangs on Fridays, of course).
Hand-mixing in small batches means we can monitor every mix closely, catch any inconsistencies early and ensure every single tin and stick that leaves our facility meets the same standard.
Hand Pouring Into Plastic-Free Packaging
Here's something we're very proud of: every Woohoo deodorant is poured into packaging that won't end up sitting in landfill for the next 400 years.
Our deodorant sticks are housed in biodegradable cardboard tubes, printed with plant-based inks, and compostable at the end of their life. Our pastes go into recyclable aluminium tins that can be cleaned out and popped straight into your recycling bin 💚
Time for Quality Control
Natural ingredients are challenging to work with due to availability and variations season to season, batch to batch. This keeps us on our toes to keep things consistent.
Every batch goes through quality control checks where samples are taken throughout the manufacturing process. Texture, consistency, scent, hardness and uniformity are some of the things we check. We also test stability, so we understand how the product behaves over time in different conditions (which is important when you live in Australia and your bathroom can hit over 35 degrees in summer).
Only once a batch passes every single checkpoint does it earn the official Woohoo seal of approval and move to the next stage.
Hand Packing Your Order With a Whole Lotta Love
Now for the grand finale! Our team hand-packs every single order with oodles of smiles and good vibes. We think there's something really lovely about knowing a real human put your order together with care, rather than a machine spitting it down a chute. And it’s even more lovely knowing we have a community of amazing Woohoo fans that love our deodorant just as much as we love making it!
